I have not used it yet as Ireceived it today. But it looks good and per consumer report it is a good generator. The only negative opinion is abot the delivery. I was not called. These peole just dropped it at the entrance of my garage and left without callling or knocking at the door. Iwas siting at some 10 steps from the door watching the t.v.

We ran things thing solidly for 5 days. Almost 24 hrs a day with enough cool down time to refuel. We were running 2 small window ac units; deep freezer; side by side fridge/ freezer and a few small electronics. Seems it would run for about 12 hrs to the stated 14 hrs. No hiccups whatsoever. I changed the oil at 26 hours of usage as recommended. Put a solo cup under plug to catch it. I want to say crankcase holds 1 2/2 quarts of oil. I replaced with a 5w/30 fully synthetic. Walmart brand Super Tech. Walmart brand (was told by gearhead friend it’s Havoline). This damn machine is brother in laws and I’m getting one!! Only drawback is it’s very loud. But hey, it gets it done !
I'd heard good things about Generac. I bought a 6500 from OSH. It worked for 8 hours then started cutting out. The bottom yellow light was blinking on the console. Called Generac and they sent me to a certified dealer. After four phone calls to some fairly disinterested people, I found a guy who knew something. He thought it wasn't getting enough air (or too much CO) and recommended I take off the air intake cover. It actually worked. I am now running it with no filter (per dealer's orders) but the plastic cover is on...so at least there is some protection against ingesting leaves, etc. No foam insert any more inside the intake chamber. It's been running two hours and counting. I've heard multiple people with this issue. I think they have an air flow problem (at least in the California version).
